The Last Supper

Well, it's over, and I went out with a bang: Six slices from a 28" pie, bringing the total for the seven days to 71.

Just let the record stand, I have not consumed anything except pizza and water for seven straight days. I took a multivitamin everyday to make sure I didn't pass out at my desk. Also, I haven't gained a pound (believe it or not) all week. Began at 155 pounds and tipped the scales last night at the same weight.

I'd like to thank everyone for following all week, the blog got more than 1,200 unique hits in the seven days.

One last thing: there is a month-long challenge already in the works for sometime this summer, so stay tuned.

The Final Meal

After polishing off two slices this morning for breakfast, I will be ordering 28" pies from "That's Amore" for lunch to celebrate the end of the challenge.

My stomach is killing me right now, so we'll see how many giant slices I eat. I'm guessing two, which would put the final slice count at 67.

Blog Slacking

My apologies to all of the devoted fans and followers of the Super Slice Me Challenge, the past few days have limited my blogging capability.

Day 6 was spent outside (yes, in 15 degree weather) from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a Habitat for Humanity site hammering all sorts of stuff. We volunteered through our agency, and one of my wonderful coworkers provided lunch for the volunteers and Habitat employees. She brought all kinds of sandwiches and chips, and as I walked into the room where the food was, I saw a small box of pizza. She remembered. Two slices of plain pizza for me.

Later that night was spent at a neighborhood bar and grill (no, not Applebees) for my buddy's 24th. I got a bar pie and drank water the whole night, serving as the official DD. Also, for all of you "Jersey Shore" fans out there, the "Grenade" (the train wreck blonde from a few episodes) used to work at the bar I was at. Her brunette friend still does--AND was working last night. I asked her for a picture with her and she had some very choice words for me that will not be spoken on this blog.

I woke up too early this morning, won't be able to get pizza for a few hours. As the challenge comes to a close, I'd like to say that I was very tempted to complete the month, and may negotiate my terms for the rules a bit more as well. Unfortunately, the challenger is on vacation this week, so I will have to speak with him about it when he gets back.

Thanks for following.

A New Challenge Has Been Proposed

Just left he challenger's office. He went through his daily questions about what's on the menu for lunch (like it's not pizza), how I'm doing, etc. I mentioned how the pizza wasn't the problem, that the water has been the most difficult part.

He then propositioned me to eat only plain pizza for a full month, with any beverages I want. I asked to be able to add toppings to the pizza, to ensure that I don't go a full month with minimal protein intake. What was decided upon was two "free meals" for the month, where I am able to eat anything I wanted.

The first week would count towards the month, so I'd only need to do three additional weeks.

I am intrigued and am seriously considering it because I do think I could eat pizza for a month, so long as I have my choice of beverage.

Any thoughts? Should I ask for more (toppings, cash price, etc.)?

Day 4: Dinner - Bar Pie

Last night I ended up going out with some of my coworkers to a bar in Morristown. I was told they had bar pies, so I'd be fine for dinner.

We ordered two pies (assuming they'd be small), and I ate 9 out of the 12 slices--each pie only had 6. Definitely the worst pizza I've eaten so far, but I didn't expect much from a bar by way of fine Italian cuisine.

Unfortunatelty for me, I was not thinking about breakfast last night, and did not leave myself anything to eat this morning. I am starving. Water has to somehow hold me over until lunch.

Day 4: Lunch

Two leftover Margherita slices from last night. They were still delicious the day after.

Well, here we are: day four. I have eaten just about every kind of pizza allowed by the rules of the challenge (leave suggestions if you have one you think would work). I have had a few different kinds of traditional, pizzeria pizza and some "fake" pizza from Dominos and Papa John's. Even though I feel like it just falls in with the imitation pizza, I guess there's still Pizza Hut.

*For the record: frozen pizzas and pizza bagels have been ruled out by the challenger.

Day 4: It's Beginning To Weigh On Me

To be honest, eating pizza since Monday hasn't been the biggest struggle of this challenge, it's actually been somewhat of a delight.

Being able to only drink water for a week has been wearing me thin. I drink tons of water normally, but the random Gatorade or glass of milk helps break through the monotony of just drinking water. Right now, my morale is shot. I am drowning in a watery pool of leftover pizza and would do awful things for a blue Gatorade right now (Not that Glacier Freeze crap either, Cool Blue, the original).
